Get ready for the 2021 “Summer Art Experience” from home! Starting Monday, June 14, children ages 6-13 will be able to view art lessons via YouTube videos taught by six local art instructors. Art supplies for the lessons will be provided free of charge while supplies last, but children may participate by using their own supplies as well. Children will have six weeks to complete their projects.
To register your child, visit our online calendar, http://rodmanlibrary.evanced.info/signup, or call 330-821-2665 ext. 223. Once they are registered, they will be able to pick up supplies from the Main Library starting on Monday, June 7.
Children are encouraged to take photos of their completed projects and email their photos along with their name to rodmaninfo@rodmanlibrary.com to take part in our “Virtual Art Gala,” which will be held on our Facebook page starting Saturday, July 24. Any child who submits photos for all six projects (one per instructor) will be entered for a chance to win one of several bonus art kits. Winners will be notified by phone. If you are unable to take a photo of the completed projects and email them to us, you are welcome to bring the completed projects into the Main Library for a staff member to take pictures of them for you. Pictures should be submitted by Friday, July 23 in order to be included in the Virtual Gala and the art kit giveaway.
Funding this year is provided with the generosity of Alliance Kiwanis Club, Alliance Quota Club, Alliance Rotary Club, Hatherill Insurance Agency, Inc., and the Friends of Rodman Public Library. For more information, please contact the Children’s Department at 330-821-2665 ext. 223.
