A familiar face is filling a new position at Rodman Public Library.
DJ Digianantonio, who has been on the staff at RPL for 12 years, has been promoted to the position of assistant director.
Digianantonio prides himself on providing quality customer service and says he will continue to do so in his new role.
His last name is a palindrome.
He’s a founding member of Last Call Cleveland, a sketch comedy troupe.
He directed a film based on the Stephen King story All That You Love Will Be Carried Away that the famed author sold him for $1 as well as a documentary that explored the influence of J.D. Salinger’s Catcher in the Rye that led to a short meeting with the reclusive writer – all in 2004.
The Fogle Author presentation by James De Monte that was scheduled for Monday, September 28 has been canceled.
Chipotle will host a dine-to-donate event for Friends of Rodman Public Library from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 12. Diners at the 1630 W. State St. location can help raise funds by presenting a flyer obtainable at Rodman Public Library or by telling their server they would like to support the Friends of Rodman Library. Those ordering online for pickup need to use the code CJ3MTKR for their order to count towards donating 33 percent of the event sales to the cause. Delivery orders will not count toward the fundraiser.
Eat at Buffalo Wild Wings on Wednesday, August 16 and help raise funds for the Friends of Rodman Public Library. Diners at the BW3 location at 310 W. State St. in Alliance can present a ticket obtainable at the library or tell their server they want to support the Friends of Rodman Library in order for 15 percent of their total bill to be donated to the organization.
Teens, ages 12-18, are invited to attend Nerf Night from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 7.
Teens should start to assemble in the Main Library auditorium at 5:15 p.m. for the after-hours event. Participants may bring in their own Nerf weapons or use some provided by the library. The library will also provide Nerf darts.
Space is limited and registration is required.
Alliance Vinyl Club will meet at Rodman Public Library at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 6.
Although it is called a club, there is no formal membership and no registration is required to attend the program, which is open to all music lovers. Those attending are encouraged to bring in some of their favorite records to play a selection or two for others.
Rodman Public Library and the Rodman Branch Library will be closed on Monday, September 4 in honor of Labor Day.
