The Children’s Department at Rodman Public Library has lots of programs planned for kids this winter.
Many fun and educational activities are filling up our calendar and this page will be updated as more are added. Note that some activities will require registration on our online calendar.

Here’s a look at what’s planned this winter
SPECIAL PROGRAMS
FEB. 9 -- RPL will mark National Pizza Day of Wednesday, Feb. 9 with a Pizza Tasting event. Children will be able to sample pizza from several local pizzerias and rate them. Registration is required.
FEB 26 – Patrons of all ages are invited to hang out and play Animal Crossing on their Switch to visit other islands, get gold nuggets, bells, recipes, art, and more
ONGOING PROGRAMS
KIDS GAMING
Kids Gaming is held on the first Wednesday of each month at Rodman Public Library in the Main Library Auditorium. From 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., children, ages 8-12, are treated to open play of video games, Minecraft, etc. on devices provided by the Registration is required for each session.

KIDS BOOK CLUB
Rodman Public Library invites children, ages 8-12, to join the Kids Book Club, which meets on the third Wednesday of each month. Kids Book Club meetings include a brief discussion of the book, a fun activity and a snack. Books are available for extended checkout. Registration is required for each session.

KIDS CRAFTING
Kids Crafting programs are held monthly and all materials are provided by the Friends of Rodman Library. Space is limited and registration is required.
All children, ages 7-12, are invited to the Main Library at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 13 to make a sock snowman craft.
Future Kids Crafting sessions will be announced.
WEE READ
Rodman Public Library will host a Winter Wee Read session on Mondays and Wednesdays between Jan. 10 and April 13. During that time, Wee Read will be offered every Monday evening at 6:30 p.m. and every Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m. Children, ages birth through two years, and their parents or caregivers are invited to attend. Wee Read includes stories, fingerplays, music and movement. No registration is required.
FAMILY FUN NIGHT
Family Fun Night will return to Rodman Public Library for a 14-week winter session beginning Tuesday, Jan. 11, but the format will be a little different. Each Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., parents or caregivers and their children, ages 3 to 12, are invited to participate in an entertaining and educational evening in Rodman Main Children’s Department. There will still be stories, but participants will break into small groups to visit various stations where they will play games, complete challenges and create crafts that will provide fun for all ages. No registration is required.
STORYTIME
Children, ages 3-5, and their parents or caregivers are invited to attend Storytime sessions this winter at Rodman Public Library. Morning sessions will be held each Thursday at 10:30 a.m. between Jan. 13 and April 14 at the Main Library. Evening Storytime sessions will be held each Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. between Jan. 11 and April 12 as part of Family Fun Nights at the Main Library. Storytime sessions are intended to encourage lifelong readers through stories, music, movement and activities. No registration required.
