During the monthly Crafternoon programs, teens, ages 12-18, will have access to a plethora of art supplies provided by the library to create any kind of artwork they would like. An idea for a craft will be provided, but the hour-long event will mostly be a free-for-all to let teens show off and share their artistic talents.

No registration is required for Crafternoons, which are supported by Friends of Rodman Public Library.

Teen D&D 6/12
Teens, 12-18, can sign up to participate in an ongoing series of “one-shot” Dungeons and Dragons missions every month based on the Candlekeep Mysteries sourcebook. Players do not have to play consistently each month to participate and “advance” their character through the campaign. Each “mission” will be a standalone adventure where characters can earn items and currency to be used to “buy” items in game, but the adventures will not crossover other than stemming from the same location of the Candlekeep Library.
The next session is planned for Monday, June 12 from 1 to 4 p.m.
Those interested can sign up on a month-to-month basis.
Space is limited each month to six players. A DnD Beyond account and email address is required to play. Before the day of the program, participants will receive a link to the campaign on DnD Beyond via email in order to add their character to the campaign page so the Dungeon Master can review the character beforehand. The Dungeon Master will also inform the participants what is needed for their character sheet within the parameters of the adventure (level, items, etc.).
Consecutive sessions will be held on the second Monday of the month from 1 to 4 p.m. unless otherwise indicated on our online calendar.
For more information, contact the Reference Department at 330-821-2665 ext. 217.
Teen Chopped 6/13
All together now, let’s get cooking.
The popular Teen Chopped will make its return to the RPL Main Auditorium from 3 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13.
Teen chefs will be divided into teams of three members, and just like in the television show “Chopped,” they will create three courses -- appetizer, main course, and dessert – from ingredient baskets. Teens will also have the full use of the Rodman Chopped pantry filled with spices and other essentials to complete their dish. A panel of three persons will then judge the round.
The event, which is supported by Friends of Rodman Public Library, is limited to 18 participants, so registration is required.
Teens may sign up individually or in groups up to three persons. To register, stop by the Reference Desk or call 330-821-2665, ext. 217.
Teens may also register online HERE.
