“Imagine Your Story” is the theme of Rodman Public Library’s 2020 Adult, Teen, and Children’s Summer Reading Program. The program is now underway and runs through Saturday, August 1. This year, participants will register and track their reading online. All participants, regardless of age, may sign up online at https://rodmanlibrary.beanstack.org/ or by downloading the Beanstack app. For tutorials on how to register, visit our YouTube page.
The adult program is open to ages 18 and older. Adults who participate and read at least one book will be automatically entered into that week’s drawing for a $25 Amazon gift card. Additional entries will be given for each additional book read in each week. All who participate in the program will be entered into a Grand Prize drawing for a $100 Amazon gift card.
Children who read for six hours will earn a paperback book, restaurant coupons, and will also be entered into a drawing to win a Grand Prize bag at the end of the program. Children will gain additional entries into Grand Prize drawings for each week that one hour of reading is completed, as well as for completion of the ten summer activity challenges. They will have free choice of the books, magazines, audiobooks, and ebooks (ex. Tumblebooks and Axis 360) they wish to read or listen to. Completion prizes are available for pickup in the Main Library's Children's Department & Branch location.
Teens, ages 12-18, who complete 20 hours of reading will receive a paperback book and a summer-themed prize. (See here for complete list of book titles available.) Teens who complete five additional hours will be entered into the drawing for a Grand Prize basket. Entries into the Grand Prize drawings will be earned for each week that three hours of reading is completed per week, as well as for each correctly answered weekly challenge question. Grand prizes include $100 gift cards for Amazon, Gamestop, and Walmart. Completion prizes are available for pickup at the Reference Department.
All ticket entries for the Grand Prize Drawings need to be entered by Sunday, August 9. For more information, call the library at 330-821-2665, ext. 107, or check out our website at www.rodmanlibrary.com.
