October's historical programming will begin and end with stories about Alliance murders.
On October 3, Allan R. May, an author and authority on organized crime, will discuss the 1957 murder on Eldon "Pete" Shoup.
Eldon “Pete” Shoup was a local golf legend in Alliance. Married with one child and a second on the way, he was murdered at the age of 25 while trying to save his father from being killed during a burglary gone horribly awry.
Teens, ages 12-18, are invited to a Five Nights at Freddy’s Pizza and Trivia Party on Thursday, October 26 from 3:30 to 5 p.m.
During the event, teens will have the opportunity to make their own mini pizza, make FNAF-themed crafts, and participate in a trivia contest to win prizes. A photo booth will also be available.
Rodman Public Library’s Lego Lab will continue in October when builders will be tasked with creating a pumpkin.
The program, intended for children ages 6-12, will be held, October 11 from 6 to 7 p.m.
Participants will also have the opportunity to create whatever they would like using Legos provided by the library.
Husband and wife team Jason and Stacy Alan will stage their “Let’s Make Magic Together” show twice at Rodman Public Library on Saturday, October 21.
The Alans will perform at 1 p.m. and at 2:30 p.m. Registration is required to attend a performance.
Rodman Public Library’s monthly Kids Crafting program continues at 4 p.m. Thursday, October 12 when children, ages 7-12, are invited to come to the Main Library to create a bead pumpkin.
All materials used during monthly kids crafting programs are provided for free thanks to the Friends of Rodman Public Library.
