Applebee's will host a dine to donate event for the Friends of Rodman Public Library all day on Wednesday, July 19. Patrons can help support the library and its activities by eating at the Alliance Applebee's location and telling their server that they wish to support the Friends of Rodman Public Library. Flyers are available at both The Main and The Branch location.

The 2023 Fogle Author Series at Rodman Public Library features three writers with Ohio ties, including Kinley Bryan (July 18), James De Monte (August 28), and James Renner (September 11).

Separate registration is required to attend all Fogle Author Series events.

Rodman Public Library will screen Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 during a Family Movie Night on Tuesday, August 1 at 5:15 p.m.

Ohio is full of oddities.

James Willis, a paranormal investigator and he author of Weird Ohio: Your Travel Guide to Ohio’s Local Legends and Best Kept Secrets, will tell of some of the strange people, unusual sites, and bizarre stories from the Buckeye State when he visits Rodman Public Library at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, July 31.

Rodman Public Library will host a Summer Art Gala from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 15 inside the Main Library showcasing the work of students who took part in the four-week Summer Art Experience. The event is free and open to the public. Cookies and punch will be served.

Maker Monday crafters will create a patriotic wreath when they meet Monday, July 17 at 6 p.m. in Rodman Public Library’s Main Auditorium.

Please note the start time for July’s program is earlier than usual due to the time it takes to complete the project.

Rodman Public Library will host an Avengers-themed Tower Escape Room on Tuesday, July 11.

From 2 to 5 p.m., teens, competing in a group up to five will work in 40-minute increments to complete tasks in order to find the shutdown code to stop Ultron from taking over the Avengers Tower.

Registration is required.

With all that Nicole Brown has accomplished in nearly three decades at Rodman Public Library, it is the friendships that she has made that she cherishes the most.

“I will miss seeing the people that I work with every day,” said Brown as she talks about her retirement that will start on July 7.
